Web 2.0 Definition and Examples

Web 2.0 is used to refer to a new generation of websites that allow users to interact and collaborate online with each other, in contrast to websites where people are limited to the passive viewing of content. Some examples of Web 2.0 are seen below:


Facebook is a social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them.

Blog, as the name already states is a free blog hosting service which allows users to share and upload media onto their own personal blog.

Youtube is a video-sharing website, in which users can upload, view and share videos online. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users can upload an unlimited number of videos.
